At the beginning of the Christ Church Capital Campaign in 2011, the UCW (United Church Women) made the decision to channel any extra funds from our events to the building of an accessible washroom on the auditorium level. The accessible washroom became a reality and was completed in October.
The UCW thought it fitting to mark this milestone event with a gala “Ode to Commode” dinner which was held on October 26th. The evening started with a tour of the new facilities …followed by the unofficial “ribbon cutting” and “first flush” executed with royal flair by Jackie Fraser.
A hot fall buffet dinner was enjoyed by all, with Battaglia’s scalloped potatoes receiving rave reviews…Lots of laughter followed as the ladies sang our rendition of “Seven Old Ladies Locked in the Lavatory” during coffee and dessert. Check out the song on this YouTube link:
