Community Garden

In 2025, Christ First created a community garden for some local residents. Applicants were chosen from a lottery in and all hands joined together to prepare the plots for planting. Gardeners, families and church volunteers shovelled and raked many yards of topsoil and compost to create 22 plots. A BBQ was a tasty reward for all the workers.

  

Our first season was a huge success, and the summer of 2026 saw the return of most of our gardeners. This initiative battles local food insecurity, while creating a community of friends.
