Oil Painting of Port Credit by Marjorie Sherman
Marjory and her husband Douglas were members for First United, joining in 1951. Marjory enjoyed painting. In the winter of 1966-1967 she sat for a few days in her car on the south side of Lakeshore Road facing downtown Port Credit, looking east across the Credit River and made a sketch of the scene. She then painted the larger rendering in colour oil paints. The painting [pictured here] hangs today in the Merigold Room at the Clarkson campus.
